To make something special, you just have to believe it's special.
昨日に引き続き、Kung Fu Pandaからです。
アヒルのMr.PingはパンダPoの育ての親です。Mr.Pingはラーメン屋を営んでおり、いつかはPoに家業を引き継がせたいと考えています。あるとき、その時期が来たと考え、Poに「秘伝の素(the secret ingredient)を教えよう」と言うのですが、肝心のPoはラーメン屋に興味がなく、ドラゴン戦士を決める競技会に出かけてしまいます。
そこでひょんなことからPoがドラゴン戦士に選ばれてしまい、強敵Tai Lungと戦うために特訓をすることになります。しかし、特訓をしただけではTai Lungを倒せないので、秘伝の巻物(the scroll)を見る栄誉を与えられたのでした。
ところが、その巻物をひも解いてみると、何も書かれていません。気落ちしたPoは育て親のMr.Pingのところに戻ります。Mr.PingはPoがラーメン屋を引き継ぐと考え、秘伝の素を教えようと言うのですが・・・。
Mr. Ping: The secret ingredient is... nothing!
Po: Huh?
Mr. Ping: You heard me. Nothing! There is no secret ingredient.
Po: Wait, wait... it's just plain old noodle soup? You don't add some kind of special sauce or something?
Mr. Ping: Don't have to. To make something special you just have to believe it's special.
[Po looks at the scroll again, and sees his reflection in it]
Po: There is no secret ingredient...
